Locks of Love Fundraiser
Thursday, Feb. 4
10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
James West Alumni Center
The Alumni Scholars Club is hosting an event where you can donate part of your hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization who make wigs for children who have lost hair due to illness.
Hair donation requirements:
- Donated hair 10 inches or longer will be used to make wigs
- Donated hair from 5 – 10 inches will be sold by Locks of Love to offset manufacturing costs. Though they won’t be used to make wigs, it greatly reduces the cost of production.
- Hair must be washed and placed in a ponytail or braid on donation day
- Colored or permed hair is acceptable
- Layered hair is acceptable if the longest layer measures 10 inches or more.
- Curly hair must meet or exceed 10 inches when straightened
- Dreaded or bleached hair is not acceptable
- A bag of already cut hair (in a hair tie) may also be brought in and donated the day of the event
- A free haircut will be provided by Vidal Sassoon Academy stylists onsite
- Event is catered by BJ's Restaurant & Brewery
- Receive a coupon for a free BJ's Pizookie
- A goodie bag filled with coupons and giveaways
- Your donation will make a difference in a child’s life
Make an appointment today by e-mailing your name, number and preferred haircut time to campusvolunteers@alumnischolarsclub.org.
