Award-winning producer/director Jeff Margolis brings three decades of experience crafting dynamic event television to his company, Jeff Margolis Productions.

He has shaped more than 75 of the entertainment industry’s biggest events, headlined by its top stars, for which he has received many of the industry’s top honors. Margolis has won two Directors Guild of America Awards for directing the Oscars, accumulated six Emmy Award nominations for directing the 1991-1996 Academy Awards telecasts and earned Emmys for directing the 1995 Oscars and for producing Sammy Davis Jr.’s 60th Anniversary Celebration.

Margolis formed Jeff Margolis Productions in 1976 to produce and package television programs. Chosen in 2004 to produce the annual Screen Actors Guild Awards for the seventh consecutive year, Jeff Margolis Productions is also producing VH1’s In Search of the Partridge Family in association with Sony Pictures Television, with Margolis serving as executive producer. In this seven-week audition series airing on VH1, contestants discovered in a nationwide talent search will be cast as the leads of the new Partridge Family situation comedy series.

Jeff Margolis Productions produced and Margolis served as executive producer and director for ABC’s highly-rated Motown 45 musical tribute special. Margolis directed the Academy of Country Music Awards for CBS and for the fourth consecutive year executive-produced the Los Angeles Music Center’s Spotlight Awards to honor young performing artists.

Margolis and Jeff Margolis Productions produced the NBC musical variety series Fame and special telecasts including the Sept. 11 tribute concert United We Stand; The Disco Ball: A 30-Year Celebration; 50th Anniversary of the Honeymooners; CBS: 50 Years from Television City; The First Family’s Holiday Gift to America: A Tour of the White House; White House Farewell Celebration, a surprise event for the Clinton family; President Clinton’s 50th Birthday Celebration at Radio City Music Hall; Quincy Jones: The First 50 Years; An Evening with Bette, Cher, Meryl, Goldie and Robin; Celebrate the Dream: 50 Years of Ebony; Julie and Carol Together Again; The Television Academy Hall of Fame; Happy Birthday, Hollywood; Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies; ABC Presents a Royal Gala, performance specials for Michael Jackson and Kenny Rogers and holiday celebrations including Amy Grant: A Christmas to Remember; six years of Perry Como Christmas specials; A Musical Christmas at Walt Disney World; A Merry Motown Christmas and Holiday Greetings from the Ed Sullivan Show, with Margolis serving as producer and director for most of these television events. Jeff Margolis Productions produced The Miss America Pageant from 1993 to 2000, with Margolis serving as producer and director. From 1993 to 1998, Margolis produced and directed A Gala for the President at Ford’s Theater.

As a collaborator, Jeff Margolis has produced and/or directed such major specials as To Life! America Celebrates Israel’s 50th; Frank Sinatra’s 75th Birthday Celebration; Happy Birthday, Elizabeth Taylor: A Celebration of Life; Night of 100 Stars and Welcome Home, America. Margolis’ prolific directing career includes 20 American Music Awards, eight Oscar and three Emmy telecasts, the feature film Richard Pryor Live in Concert; numerous television specials showcasing such stars as David Copperfield, Steve Martin, Dolly Parton and Ringo Starr, just to name a few, and series including The Bill Cosby Show and Tony Orlando and Dawn.

For the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Jeff Margolis Productions compiled Oscar’s Greatest Moments, two outstanding hours of highlights from 21 Academy Awards telecasts, released on home video. For the Los Angeles Music Center, Margolis has served on the Spotlight Awards Board of Directors since 2003.

Jeff Margolis and Jeff Margolis Productions continues to package and produce entertainment series, reality series and event specials for network, syndication and cable television. In addition, Jeff Margolis Productions produces commercials and live events.
