Join the Bay Area Bruins or upgrade to life membership
The Bay Area Bruins is a regional chapter of the Association, meaning that all association members that reside within our region are automatically members of the chapter. This differs from a regional club, in which the membership dues are collected separately. Our region consists of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Sonoma counties.
All members automatically receive a copy of the UCLA Magazine (sent quarterly) and the monthly Connect@UCLA e-mail newsletter from the Association.

The Bay Area Bruins are looking for motivated volunteers to fill positions on the Board of Directors. Board members must attend bi-monthly meetings and plan & participate in events.

Date: July 30, 2010 Details: BAB Rivalry Night at the ballpark Join the Bay Area Bruins' 11th annual baseball outing as the Giants host the Dodgers in this classic rivalry. Buy some peanuts and Crackerjacks, then cheer on your favorite team! But order your tickets now because there will only be a limited number available! | Muir Woods Trek |
Date: July 31, 2010 Details: Strap on good hiking boots, pack a great lunch and get ready to be amazed by ancient redwood trees, soaring eagles and panoramic views of San Francisco(above the fog). Depending on the weather, we will either take the Dip Sea Trail down to Stinson Beach or up to Mt. Tamalpais/Marin Mountain Play Theatre. We will depart and return to Muir Woods. Date: August 5, 2010 Details: UCLA meets Cornell University for a Joint Alumni Mixer at Kãama Lounge near Santana Row. | San Jose Jazz Festival |
Date: August 14, 2010 Details: Over 1000 jazz artists and 100,000 jazz music lovers converge on San Jose for a weekend of of jazz, blues, salsa, Latin, R&B, electronica and many other forms of contemporary music. Bruins will have their own private party staked out on the lawn in front of the Main Stage mid-afternoon. Our meeting time will be set once the artist's schedule is confirmed. Bring your favorite munchies/libations to share with lots of other Bruins as we dine alfresco and listen to famous jazz legends such as Allen Touissant or Dee Dee Bridgewater. Festival tickets can be purchased on-site. Please RSVP so we know how much lawn space to reserve and can let you know where to find us in the crowd. Date: August 14, 2010 Details: Do you want to spread the word about how fantastic UCLA is? This Fall, the Bay Area Bruins plan to be out in full force to promote UCLA at college fairs throughout the entire Bay Area. Annie Huerta from Admissions will conduct a special training session for local Bruins who want to join fellow alumni and represent UCLA at the various fairs. Help recruit students to UCLA and have fun doing it. Let's show prospective Bruins we know how to represent our alma mater! Date: September 5, 2010 Details: The 29th Annual Livermore Valley Harvest Wine Celebration showcases over 40 wineries' wines and their unique personalities during the peak of Harvest Season! We can tour the wine region by a car, bike, or aboard one of the several complimentary buses. We will start our day sharing a potluck brunch at Robertson Park around 11:30 AM.
