PAC-10 Softball in Central Park

Date: July 31, 2010
Details: The PAC-10 season continues on Saturday, July 31st at Central Park's North Meadow Field #2 from 12:30pm until 3pm. Come join PAC-10 Alumni and friends for a fun game of softball in the park! Games will continue every Saturday throughout the Summer.

PAC-10 softball is a social group that mixes competitiveness, fun, and a no-pressure attitude that allows for all levels and ages of players to feel comfortable. We play on one field, North vs. South.

We encourage people to bring their favorite beverage along with enough to share with someone you don't know so you can get to know them! Feel free to bring a blanket as many choose to lay out in between innings.

To cover park permit fees and equipment, the player fees are as follows:

PAC-10 Players for entire Season: $10
Non-PAC 10 Players: $20

Check out the Central Park website for the exact ball field location.

If the weather looks questionable, call Central Park's ball field conditions hot line to confirm whether the fields are open. If they're open we're playing. Call (212) 628-1036 then press 1, then 2, then 808 for North Meadow fields.

See you Saturday!

OR

- 2 hour fun doubles playing with fellow Bruins ($20 per person, 8 available slots)

Equipment: you will need your own tennis rackets. If you do not have one, you can rent one on site for $5.

Shakespeare on the Run in Battery Park

Date: August 1, 2010
Details: Experience Shakespeare for FREE and get some exercise in the process! Shakespeare on the Run will present "Much Ado About Nothing" in Battery Park starting at Castle Clinton.

Much Ado About Nothing
by New York Classical Theater
FREE play in Battery Park
Picnic: Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 6 pm
Play: 7pm starting at Castle Clinton

The past two year's productions have been terrific and we expect no less this year. For those of you not familiar with the concept, each scene takes place in different parts of the park. The whole audience runs to where the next scene is taking place every 5-7 minutes, so there is no chance for snoozing during this show! The play moves along using trees, rocks, benches and even the audience as scenery! There are no lines to wait on, no reservations to make, and no tickets to buy! Just show up!

We'll also hold an informal picnic on the benches near the entrance to Castle Clinton starting at 6pm. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Look for the folks in the UCLA Bruin attire.

Contact Information: To RSVP, email Danilo.
