Piano Concert with Judy Huang
Date: May 13, 2008 Details: Judy Huang is a distinguished concert pianist who has performed both as a soloist with symphony orchestras and as a chamber musician. Judy, a UCLA alumnae and winner of many piano competitions, has also performed at Carnegie Hall. Program will include classical and popular music. True Blue Celebration
Date: June 7, 2008 Details: Join us for a day of the ultimate Bruin camaraderie! This event will host 1,000 Bruins ranging from our championship coaches, student-athletes, Bruin athlete alumni like Troy Aikman and Michael Warren, Kenny Washington, Rafer Johnson, as well as the very best of our Bruin Fans. This event is being held to raise money for all programs within UCLA Athletics. This unique event will offer over 500 silent auction items divided into four zones - Everything Bruin, Food & Wine, Arts & Entertainment, and Travel & Leisure. During the silent auction, our favorite wineries will provide wine tasting to all guests. We will also be serving appetizers. The silent auction will be followed by a Taste of UCLA (buffet dinner) and an exciting and extensive Live Auction hosted by a prominent member of the UCLA Alumni family. Volunteer with 2nd Harvest Food Bank
Date: June 7, 2008 Details: Join the Orange County Bruins at the 2nd Harvest Food Bank to inspect/sort food for food bank and possibly prepare snacks for children as part of children's nutrition program. Back Bay Hike with Bruins
Date: August 2, 2008 Details: Join Bruins for an easy stroll along this special estuary teaming with wildlife in our own backyard. Park on East Bluff Drive (beyond the red star on the map), off Jamboree. We'll take an easy pace along the southern shore of the Newport Beach Back Bay. Fortunately, there's ample room for bikers, hikers and leashed dogs. Wear something with UCLA on it so we can find each other as we gather at the top of Back Bay Drive. College Fair Training
Date: September 3, 2008 Details: We're looking for enthusiastic, articulate alumni to represent UCLA at college fairs throughout Orange County. College fairs are held on weeknights and last from two to three hours. You may choose from among several locations near your home or work and times that fit your own schedule. Volunteer to meet high school students at one fair or volunteer for several fairs – it's up to you. Training is required and conducted by the UCLA admissions office. Topics include the admissions process, relevant details, UCLA facts and fair logistics. Refreshments provided. When: Wednesday, September 3, 2007, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Location: Duck Club, San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, Irvine. Directions: Driving south on the 405, exit on Jamboree and turn right. Turn left on Michelson, the first signal. Continue on Michelson. At the third signal, turn right on Riparian View. Follow the main road and the signs directing you to Audubon, The Duck Club, and the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary. Pass the Irvine Ranch Water District water treatment plant. You will be on a paved two-way road for a 1/4-mile. Before you encounter a gate closing off the rest of the road, signs will direct you to turn right down a short hill and into the parking lot.
