Council Biography

Steve Sauer

Steve Sauer is a seasoned producer, packager and personal manager of actors, writers, directors and composers. He is the founding partner of MediaFour, having been previously the President and CEO of Steve Sauer Enterprises.

During the 1993-94 television season, Mr. Sauer developed and executive produced the ABC comedy series "GEORGE" starring George Foreman, ABC’s critically acclaimed, inner-city-based reality program "GETTIN’ OVER," and that network’s highest rated special during the 1994 May sweeps, "BEFORE THEY WERE STARS."

Due to the overwhelming success of "STARS," an upscale, hour-long special featuring film and video images of today’s brightest television and motion picture performers from their earliest days as entertainers, ABC ordered three additional one-hour specials and then subsequently turned the program into a 1/2 hour series for the 1995-96 broadcast season.

Mr. Sauer executive produced the hour-long franchise special "THE ROAD TO HOLLYWOOD" for NBC in May, 1993, the highly rated ABC movie for television entitled "THE WHEREABOUTS OF JENNY" in 1991, the Emmy Award-winning series "KIDS ARE PEOPLE TOO!" and the ACE-nominated "WAR BABIES SPECIAL" for HBO starring the radically popular improvisational group.

From 1984-86, Mr. Sauer was a general partner in Management III, a prestigious production and management organization representing top stars and recording artists and producing a wide variety of world-class television and motion picture projects.

Mr. Sauer launched and served as President of Katie Face Productions, a diversified and highly successful supplier of network programming from 1987-93. After leaving Katie Face, he made a first-look production arrangement with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

A 1974 Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of UCLA’s History and Motion Picture/TV Departments, Mr. Sauer received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in 1977, at which time he joined the distinguished law corporation of Fierstein & Sturman.

Mr. Sauer resides in Los Angeles, California.
