Lecturer: Professor Stephen Dickey
A lecturer in the English department since 1988, Stephen Dickey has taught courses on a range of topics, from Shakespeare and 16th-century English literature to the Beat generation. A popular lecturer in the department, Stephen has won several teaching awards, including the Mortar Board Faculty Excellence Award and the Luckman Distinguished Teaching Award. Stephen has given several presentations on Shakespearean performance, both stage and film, at UCLA’s Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. In 2002 and 2004, he was on the faculty at the Folger Shakespeare Library’s summer teaching institute, which brings high school teachers from around the country to Washington, D.C., for a month of intensive study. This is his ninth year serving as lecturer for our Oregon Shakespeare Festival tour.
