Muriel McClendon is a member of the history department and also serves as chair of UCLA’s European studies program. She teaches in the western civilization sequence, as well as on early modern British and European history. McClendon specializes in the social history of the Reformation in England. She has published on religion and politics in Norwich, England’s second largest city in the period and home to thousands of Dutch immigrants, who fled there to escape religious persecution in the Low Countries.
