The 2005 season has been successful for Bruin football. We finished the season with a 9-2 record and played some heart-stopping contests that included a few incredible comebacks. You fans who supported us at the Rose Bowl played a role in that success and our players and coaches want to thank you for giving us a great home field advantage. On Dec. 30, we will conclude this fine season playing Northwestern at the Sun Bowl. It should be a great game. We hope that you will come to El Paso and support the team by wearing your blue and gold and cheering us on to one more victory.

New Extension Courses for the New Year

UCLA Nursing Program to Reopen Undergraduate Program
In a decisive response to the state's nursing crisis, the UC Board of Regents approved a 2006–07 budget proposal that will create new programs at the UCLA School of Nursing. UCLA will offer the only undergraduate nursing program in the UC system.

Tests of Antidepressant as Addiction Treatment Hold Promise
A new study led by researchers at UCLA's Semel Institute suggests the antidepressant bupropion may help treat methamphetamine addiction. No medications presently are approved for treating methamphetamine addicts.

Obesity Epidemic Overblown
The so-called obesity epidemic is at best a metaphor and not a very effective one at that, suggests a UCLA study in the current issue of the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law.
